PROJECT: Through different activities throughout the year a local group in collaboration with international volunteers will help to protect the marine turtle by preventing the turtle eggs of being stolen and making sure the turtles’ reproduction in permanence in the zone. Through these activities the organization looks also for increasing the conscience within the local population and local and national authorities about the importance of preserving these species as well as about ecological matters. It promotes as well a deep cultural exchange between the local people and international volunteers. WORK: Volunteers will carry out different tasks to help to preserve two different kinds of marine turtle (Lepidochelys Olivacea and Dermochelys Coracea) by collecting the eggs that the females lay down in the zone and putting them into a yard at the turtles’ camping. They will take care of them and of the baby turtles helping to leading them to the ocean. They will also help to collect statistical data and they will patrol the zone where the turtles nest by night. They will have, finally, the opportunity of contribute to cleaning the beach. Volunteers will also take part in workshops in the local schools to promote the awareness about protecting the life of the turtles to ensure their survival in the future and teach children and new generation a new relationship in harmony with the environment and in peace with nature. ACCOMODATION: Volunteers will be lodged in tents in a camping close to the working area with all facilities at disposal (kitchen, bathrooms for men and women, showers).

REMARKS: All the volunteers placed in this camp will receive personalized online advice and online support to organize their trip to Mexico, and also all volunteers will be given on their arrival to the camp a discount card to save money in the activities they realize in Mexico. All volunteers who participate in 2 camps or more will receive a free Spanish course during 1 week (including hosting, professional teacher, conversation practice, cultural training, materials and 3 hours of classes daily).
