Work: WORK: Come to the bustling city of Los Angeles and also get the chance to explore the beautiful West coast of the States. The organization is based in Los Angeles and you will go on vacations with people with developmental disabilities. This will give you the chance to explore a number of places. On the vacations you will be responsible for the vacationers safety and helping them with their adult daily living skills. You will also have three meals a day and organize activities for the vacations. The hours are long so the work can be tiring, but it is also very rewarding and a lot of fun. In between vacations you will have the opportunity to explore Los Angeles. There are beaches, many museums and of course the world famous Hollywood walk of fame. Some office work may also be required between trips. Location: LOCATION: Los Angeles is a large, bustling cosmopolitan city, home to the Hollywood walk of Fame and due to its large number of movie studios, production facilities and celebrities it claims to entertain the world! The vacations you lead will mostly go somewhere in California or the West of the USA. We do travel all over the US and have a small number of international trips. Partner: Southern California Sunshine Vacations mission is to provide high quality supported recreational travel programs for people with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injury living in the Southern California area.The organization will run a calendar of trips year round. http://sunshinevacationsonline.org/ Requirements: LANGUAGE: English. Good English required.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Motivation letter / Interview. Driving license required for at least 50% of volunteers. Accomodation and food: ACCOMMODATION: Whilst on trips volunteers will stay in comfortable hotels. In between trips volunteers will stay in a hostel in Los Angeles.
