The project: études ET chantiers invite you at Montaigu-le-Blin to give a second life to the medieval castle of a small village in a region called Le Bourbonnais. Workcamps have started to protect this building – which has been listed as an Historical Monument- since summer 2002. After the July’s and August’s workcamps focus one the restoration of the surrounding wall, we expected you to end the season on a high note, giving back to the castle the important part it used to play (openings to the public & guided tours, heritage linked activities and festivities…). Works: During this last workcamp of the season, you’ll aim to organize “les Journées Européennes du Patrimoine” (the European Days of Heritage) the 18th and 19th of September, preparing activities for the public (guided visits, heritage workshop, games for children, all kind festivities…). Currently, we don’t know the national subject which will be chosen in 2010. It’s an important moment in the castle’s live: your desires, ideas and experiences will help us to bring the castle back to life! Depending on yours projects and ideas, think you’ll have works numerous and diversified in order to prepare the site (for example: clear the vegetation, install safety nets, etc.) You’ll discover the know-how which allowed to build the castle and which allows you today to restore it: observation of the buildings, squaring and hewing’s workshop will be planned.

Notes:
French speaking camp, with a special thematic on heritage. If you have safety shoes, take them with you. If not, make sure you bring sturdy and close footwear to protect your foots (hewing workshop)!
