Work: The workcamp ´Primeros Pobladores´ (First Settlers), which celebrates its X edition this year, is organized in three main action fields. These correspond to the three main activities that happen during the camp. This is: excavation, laboratory work and formation. Excavation: The excavations take place in the archaeological Paleolithic sites of ´El Millar´, ´Santa Ana´ and ´El Conejar´. ´El Millar´ is a Middle Paleolithic open air site. ´Santa Ana s Cave´ archaeological remains go from the ancient Lower Paleolithic (over 1,200,000 years ago) to the roman period. ´El Conejar Cave´ remains go from Middle Paleolithic to recent Prehistory, with lots of Epipaleolithic remains too.Laboratory work: In the laboratory, the workcamp´s participants continue with their formation. This is due to the fact that they can get familiarized with all the process that follows the archeological material once it has been removed from the site. Moreover, they can learn the analysis methods that apply the specialists in the materials studied. The laboratory work is dedicated to verify that the field data is correct, to the preliminary study of the objects found and to their catalogation and conservation.Theoric formation: The camp´s participants learning is eminently practical, given that it happens during the archaeological excavation itself. This knowledge is then complemented with a series of theoretic-formative chats and didactic workshops.COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES.- Besides the excavation and laboratory work, some complementary activities are programmed: formative chats on theoretic archaeology will talk about lithic industry, fauna remains, human evolution, zooarchaeology, etc. Meanwhile, the didactic archaeology workshops will focus on prehistoric art, fire, tools, weapons, etc. Finally, some historical and scientific audiovisuals and documentaries about other archaeological sites will be shown.
