Work: We will work together with the orphans aged 12-15 to remove the weeds in the field. Quite tiring but let’s enjoy it with them! Around 30 kids come here during the summer holiday of them which is between June to August. Main work of volunteers are to help Orphanage's vegetable farm. Weeding wild plants, watering the farm and trees etc. Also someday volunteers will organize sports and cultural activity with children. Such as play games, party etc. STUDY : The future plan of international workcamps in Mongolia and the orphanage. Programme and activities : Cultural exchange program, excursions, etc. Location: 45 km from Ulaanbaatar. Place name is "BUHUG". The sight is just unbelievably beautiful, typical Mongolian plain. Terminal : Ulaanbaatar, Chinggis Khaan International airport or International train station of Ulaanbaatar (MCE will provide free pick up service for all volunteers). Partner: The Childcare Centre of Mongolia (CCM) is a only fully government-funded orphanage in Mongolia. The orphanage was established in 1974. It started as a nursery cum pre-school and later in 1979, expanded to providing facilities for older children. The pre-school kids range between 3-6 years old and the older kids, between 6-18 years. Pre-school and School kids are live 2 separate place in Ulaanbaatar. The school age kids place we call ‘Orphanage' and it is a 3-storey building and house. ‘Pre-school' kids place we call kindergarden and they live in a single storey building. There are currently a total of 300 children comprising approximately 150 younger kids and 150 older kids. 35 teachers and 50 staff run the Centre. The children live in a very deprived environment. Facilities and living space are limited. The main concern is food and education facilities. As they realy heavily on fundings from the government. Some small plots of land are available for the Centre to cultivate vegetables to feed the kids in the place which is called Buhug river. The elder 30 kids of Orphanage who are between 12-16 years old work there during the 3 months of summer. They produce vegetables such as carrots, radish, onions, etc. just enough for their meals all year (they keep it 4 meter under the ground for one year that is a quite magic!) The vegetables are very purely organic and very tasty and kids are very nice!Since 2000, volunteers from all over the world have been participating in summer programs designed to improve the kids vegetable farm. Volunteers will help out in the vegetable farm. Requirements: To like kids and be flexible/ adaptable. Mongolian speakers are welcome! The additional fee of 165 Euro should be paid on your arrival directly. Accomodation and food: Mongolian traditional tents which is GER (traditional tent). SB! CV with a local staff.
