Work: WORK: The Kachreti "Public Boarding school Nr.2" was created in 1958. There are orphan and native children for 6 - 16 year old living and studying in the school. The volunteers will work 4 to 6 hours - 6 days a week; help the local community in vineyards and sometimes instead of it (depends on the weather as well); they will paint the walls of the second floor of the house, and have some garden renovation work. WHAT TO BRING: First of all it is great to bring sleeping bags and warm clothes with you! You will need some kind of working clothes for the camp activities. You can also bring your music instruments with you, CD or DVD with your favorite national songs and music, maybe some toys and ideas to children and of course your good mood. Location: The "Public Boarding school Nr.2" is situated 120 km from capital of Georgia Tbilisi in Village Kachreti, one of south-eastern Kakheti regions of Georgia. This is one of the most beautiful parts of Georgia mostly popular with its history and amazing architectural monuments (about 5 000) and vine. Camp leaders will organize free time with the participants. There is a domino, chess, table tennis, football, volley-ball, basketball, fishing etc. Partner: Georgia is considered to be one of the oldest homelands of viniculture in the world. It is proved that wine-making in Georgia has been practiced since the 3rd millennium BC. For many centuries wine remains one of the fascinating symbols of Georgian history and culture. The vineyard and wine culture is very rich and is based on ancient traditions. Vineyards occupy about 38,000 ha of land. The most famous among them is the Tsinandali factory, which started operation back in 1865. Famous sorts of Georgian wines are Rkatsiteli, Manavi, Napareuli, Tibaani, Tsinandali, Vazisubani, Mukuzani, Saperavi, Kindzmarauli, Khvanchkara, etc. The head of the Georgian table is Tamada, a person who proposes traditional toasts. "RTVELI" is a quite active holiday in Georgia, as lots of people are gathered in Kakheti region every year to participate in it. Working in this WC you will have an opportunity to take part in most important event in Kakheti "Gathering of grapes" and in the wine making process (in grape extraction). The main purpose of the camp is to give the volunteers opportunity to participate in the process of grape vintage. It is the ancient tradition of Kakheti region and is quite interesting as well as joyful, as it still keeps ancient traditional secrets of making vine. Requirements: AGE: 18-26. LANGUAGE: LANGUAGE: French, Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijan, English, Georgian. PARTICIPATION FEE: 230,00 EUR. To be paid at the arrival.SPECIALS: No drugs, sex, alcohol or cigarettes allowed during the working time. Accomodation and food: On the 2nd and 3rd floor at the sleep building, with beds, toilette and showers and with hall on 1st floor. FOOD: Will be supplied in the school dining room (three times a day). The volunteers will taste many Georgian national dishes, especially the Kakhetian ones, such as: mtsvadi, khinkali, khashi, gudis kveli - a special kind of cheese, also there will be available many fruits vegetables and greens. Also the volunteers will have the opportunity to offer their national dishes to other volunteers of the camp. It will be too interesting, won't it?
