Project: The Parco Grugnotorto-Villoresi is located in the North of Milan. A massive urbanization has occurred in the area after the Second Word War and it has mainly changed the shape of this territory. Once old and typical country landscape, the area is now mostly covered by roads, industries and houses. At the end of the 80s, some organizations joined together aiming to preserve the agricultural areas which have not been involved yet in the destructive process of urbanization. Recently a park has been realized and we now ask for volunteers in order to maintain and further develop it. Besides the maintenance of the structures of the park, the volunteers will also take part in social events. Work: The volunteers will be involved in removing weeds and cutting the grass, maintaining the structures of the park, watering the plants as well as painting the park benches. Location: Cinisello Balsamo, Milan district, Lombardia region. Accommodation: The volunteers will be hosted in a building, headquarter of the local branch of the Italian Red Cross, provided with all facilities: a small kitchen, a refectory, toilettes and showers. Terminal: Airports of Milan: Malpensa Linate Orio al Serio. Milan Central railway station.
