Beschreibung:
WORK: The work is hard, heavy physical labor. Much of it will be digging ditches with shovels and carrying stone gravel in wheelbarrows. We will work a few long (7 hr) days then take a day off for fun, and then work a few days and take another day off. Why are we working so hard? We are building a bike path that will eventually go 85 miles across the entire state of Vermont. The path will connect small towns, their schools, and the wild natural areas in between. STUDY THEME: Guest speakers from the VT chapter of the Nature Conservancy. LOCATION: Public Forest in Northeastern Vermont, east of Montpelier TERMINAL: Burlington or Montpelier, Vermont. Pick-up may be arranged. ACCOMODATION: We will camp in tents in the forest. The camp has no electricity, no running water, and no flushing toilets. We will be able to take showers only twice during the camp. No alcohol is allowed at the housing. We cook food together. Group gear (tents, cooking utensils) provided. You bring sleeping bag and personal items. LEISURE ACTIVITIES: During recreation time we will decide as a group - riding bikes, hiking up mountains, swimming in lakes; and also driving to attractions in nearby towns like Montpelier, capitol of Vermont.

Notes:
SPECIAL REMARKS: No alcohol is allowed at the site. Sturdy leather work boots and durable work clothes needed plus a desire to camp outside, work hard, get dirty, have fun, and make a visible difference!
