PROJECT: International workcamps have been succeding in the district area of the "Pays of Cayres and Pradelles" for the last five years. The inhabitants are getting used to the arrival of the workcamps and the exchanges with the volunteers get richer and richer every year. These workcamps will start a cycle of actions for the embellishments of the villages of the area. This year, the concerned villages will be Costaros first and then the Bouchet-St-Nicolas. WORK: You will build big stone boxes with lime mortar. You will use traditionnal technics and local materials. You will learn a bit about stone carving and traditional masonry. LOCATION: The community of Pays de Cayres and Pradelles is between three french departments: Haute-Loire, Lozère and Ardèche, 150 km south-east of Clermont-Ferrand and at a distance of 30 km from the volcano Puy-en-Velay. This region of elevated plains (at an altitude of about 1000 m) is rich in wide, green, and mountainous spaces, perfect for hiking and nature friends. ACCOMMODATION: two places tents, boys and girls separated (bring your sleeping mats) to sleep and collective tent for the group life. In the municipal campsite. TERMINAL: Le-Puy-en-Velay train station SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Bring some warm clothes, nights are cold, even during the summer. Please, bring gloves, protection glasses, special suits and working shoes.
