Program fee and related cost
Volunteers or their sponsoring organizations are responsible for the cost of transportation from their home communities to the projects and return, Vaccination, medical expenses, Visa and other relevant immigration papers application and processing, Pocket money, free time/Leisure time activities, meals and accommodation expenses outside the host community/Program activities. Specific costs to be known are:
1. Program fee: € 200
2. Orientation fee: € 20
3. Transport from UVIKIUTA center to the Project community (To be provided in the information sheet, depending on the distance)
4. Pick up from the meeting point to UVIKIUTA center- €10
5. Pick up from airport: € 35 (Optional)
6. Bed and breakfast at UVIKIUTA center- € 20 (Optional)
How to get to the projects?
Volunteers will be picked at Luther house l located along Sokoine drive Dar es Salaam, next to Azania Front Lutheran Cathedral on the first day of the Workcamp at 14:00hrs.

UV.242 12.09. - 25.09.2010 Chamazi TEMEKE Information Technologies
Work:
Teaching young people basics of computer application. The project is aiming at providing opportunity to the young people to access Internet and make use of the useful information for their own development.
Study: The role of IT in youth development.
Week end activity: Tour to Mikumi or Uduzungwa Mountains National parks to view wild animals, over night in Zanzibar, and tour to Bagamoyo historical sites.
UV.243 19.09. - 02.10.2010 Rural MTWARA Biodiversity conservation
Work:
Volunteers will participate in conservation of coastal environment including planting and taking care of the mangrove trees along Indian Ocean coast. Conservation and monitoring of marine animals will be another activities
Extra activities: Teaching sport and games to the young people in the community.
Study: Environmental Sustainability (MDG:7)
Week end: Golden opportunity to visit Selous National Park one the biggest in Tanzania, experience typical Tanzanian coastal culture, historical sites and the beauty of the region through excursions to Mikindani, Msanga Mkuu Peninsula, and the famous slave market in Mtwara.
UV.244 19.09. - 02.10.2010 Vudoi MWANGA Women Empowerment: Challenge for Sustainable Development.
Work:
Volunteers will be involved in construction of a local high school to allow more girls to access education.
Extra activity: Teaching sport and games to the young people and kids in the community.
Study: Education for empowerment (MDG:2)
Week end: North Pare mountains cultural tourism, tour to Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara National Parks to view animals, Maasai tribe cultural tourism. Bring more options.
UV.246 26.09. - 09.10.2010 Magole TEMEKE Community Library and the Culture of Reading
Work:
Painting local community library, shelving and stocking books collecting books and information material for community use.
Extra activities: Maintenance of garden around the community library, organizing events in the local schools and community around to promote culture of reading.
Study: Community Libraries Sustainability
Week end activity: Tour to Mikumi or Uduzungwa Mountains National Parks to view wild animals, over night in Zanzibar, and tour to Bagamoyo historical sites.

Work:
Tree planting in open spaces, making boundaries by various trees around the conserved area, management of existing trees and awareness rising on environment and sustainable living.
Extra activity: Organizing various activities for children in the community like arts and crafts, sports, games, etc.
Study: Environmental Sustainability (MDG:7)
Week end: Options are visiting the historical town of Bagamoyo, beach for swimming, visiting Zanzibar over weekend, Mikumi National Park, etc.
UV.250 21.08. - 04.09.2010 MareraKILIMANJARO Social Welfare, Poverty and Alienation
Work:
Providing material assistance and emotional support to HIV positive children and adults. Support to senior citizens will be also part of the activities (Working at home and doing. various activities).
Extra activity: Working with widows in income generation activities to support their families. Also organizing games and sports for orphanage kids in the community.
Study: Ignorance of health risks (MDG:6)
Week end: Visit Lake Manyara National Park and Ngorongoro Crater to view wild animals.
UV.251 28.11. - 11.12.2010 Central ZANZIBAR Girl's Education and Youth Empowerment
Work:
Teaching English language to the disadvantaged young people in the community.
Extra activity: Sports, games and kids activities in the community especially in the afternoons.
Study: Welfare of the marginalized groups.(MDG:1)
Week end: Possibilities may include a day visit to Jozani National Park, swimming at the beach, a spice tour, snorkeling and swimming with dolphins at Kamikazi Beach. Others include visiting historical sites (Stone Town, slave market and museums). More options will be available for discussion during the orientation day - please bring your ideas.
