MONAR MARIANOWEK (near Kolobrzeg)
Description: SOCI EDU Monar is a non-governmental organization that helps people in difficult life circumstances and those socially excluded: homeless, HIV-positive or addicted to alcohol and/or drugs. Monar has various centers, concerned with specific problems in various parts of Poland. The center in Marianowek is focused on drug addiction therapy and rehabilitation. We offer in place one year therapy to about 70 young people in the age range 15- 25. There are many different artistic and educational activities used as a part of therapy. It is situated in the picturesque area with park, pond and stable with horses around. The place of the workcamp is quite close to the Baltic Sea. Work: The main task of volunteers is to socialize with the community, by helping them in their everyday work (gardening, cleaning, working in the kitchen, renovating etc.). Volunteers will have a chance to share their interests with the others, both residents and volunteers, while organizing workshops, games or any other sort of activities they would like to propose.
Study part: The problem of drug addiction, anti-drug therapy. Horse riding.
Accommodation: In the house of the community, in one room. Simple conditions: mattresses or sleeping mats.
Extra info: No drugs, no alcohol. Smoking allowed. Not accessible for wheelchairs.
