This MTV project was born by the necessity to involve international volunteers in Ayacucho, Peru to work together with Peruvian children.

Peru Sonqoikipy started to organize these projects in 2003 with excellent results. This is why we have decided to open more places for International Medium Term Volunteers.
 
The volunteers in these projects will have the chance to interact with the local community and will be working closely with Peruvian children. This is an experience in organization and work ethic. At the same time, the project helps create long lasting friendships, communities and more than this, shares a life experience with the people of Peru.

Much organization is needed for the coordination of international workcamps and one of them is leading international groups of volunteers. This is what these projects are all about; the volunteers will lead different groups of international volunteer in projects in Peru.

The MTV volunteer will be the camp leader of the international workcamps and will be in charge of coordinating groups of international volunteers to work in the activities of the projects and to encourage the interaction with the locals and intercultural exchange.

MTV Volunteer will receive

1.-A Leader Training Course to lead international groups of volunteers.
2- A training to adapt to the Peruvian culture, manage cultural shocks and motivation of work teams.
3.- Training to learn administration team tools, techniques to manage conflicts and to make teams of people work smoothly.
WORK: The work will consist helping to coordinate local projects in Ayacucho, Peru and to be the camp leader of groups of international volunteers (manage daily life, organization of the volunteers' finances, etc) and also to coordinate the relationships with the local people with the support of the local hosts of each project.

Each MTV volunteer will lead two groups of international volunteers in two different projects. Between each camp there is a vacation period before the next project starts and at the end of the MTV period the volunteer will make a general evaluation of his/her stay in Peru.

LOCATION: Each MTV project will be held in Ayacucho, Peru.
POCKET MONEY: Peru Sonqoykipi will pay for all the expenses of the MTV volunteer while in the international projects. Between each project there are 8 to 17 days of a vacation period that will be used to rest and to prepare all the necessary things before the next project starts. Peru Sonqoykipi will not cover any expense during these days but after each project the volunteer will receive some pocket money.

SPANISH COURSES

The course is for people who do not speak Spanish. It is a BASIC COURSE but practical and very intensive. Understanding some Spanish will give greatly improve the experience in Peru, and you will be able to communicate with the  people of Ayacucho.

The cost is 150 EUROS THAT YOU MUST PAY IN THE PERU SONQOYKIPI OFFICE AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE PLEASE THINK ABOUT THIS AND COME PREPARED, YOU CAN PAY IT IN EUROS, DOLLARS OR NUEVOS SOLES BUT WE CANNOT ACCEPT TRAVELER CHEKS OR PERSONAL CHECKS

This cost includes
* Hosting for 7 days and 6 nights in Ayacucho with all facilities at your disposal (in the same house as the volunteers). You will be able to cook your own food but food will not be provided for this week.
* Materials needed for the course, just come with a personal notebook.
* 3 daily hours of Intensive Spanish classes plus homework given by a professional Spanish teacher in the city of Ayacucho
