AYISE/MWAI 06 OPPORTUNITY FOR MEDIUM TERM WORK PLACEMENTS
SCOPE OF WORK
The following Medium Term Work Placements are Available and their specific scope of work.
1 In coming Volunteers Coordinator
· Coordinate the work of all international volunteers and of course the local volunteers involved with the international volunteers
· Ensure most needs of international volunteers are addressed.
· Carry out evaluations of all the work camps.
· Together with the programme Officer for Work camps assess all the work camp sites and prepare the communities and the local volunteers that will be involved on each camp.
· Ensure effective communication with prospective international volunteers on the conditions and situation of each specific camp.
· Coordinator of the World Heritage Volunteers project
2 Work Camps Supervisor and Coordinator
· Supervising all the field work camps and address some of the concerns that can be dealt with while on the monitoring visits
· Write reports to management on work camp situation requiring the Executive Director’s attention
· Conflict management and transformation on each camp visited during the monitoring/supervisory visits.
3 Youth Centre Assistant Coordinator
· Help in training the unemployed youth in computers with the guidance of the youth centre manager
· Coordinate sporting activities of the Centre
· Ensure orderly undertakings of sporting activities by introducing organized Basketball, Volley Ball, Netball teams from under 14, under 24 and under 34 to above thirty.
· Undertake to encourage girl participation in sporting activities.
4 Assistant to the Executive Director on resource Mobilisation and special programmes
· Help the Executive Director in writing funding proposals
· Updating the organizational Website on regular basis with creativity
· Writing organizational Annual reports
· Assist the Executive Director in compiling minutes of the meetings of the Board.
· Representing the Executive Director in some meetings as assigned.
5 Coordination of the Schools Construction projects
· Participate in the school construction projects while at the same time coordinating efforts that will lead to the completion of the construction
· Compile reports on the progress of the work
ACCOMODATION
Medium Term Volunteers will sleep in the Guest House which is located in the AYISE head Office campus. It is a relatively small house that can accommodate up to 10 volunteers sleeping on two bunk beds in each room (four beds in each room)
FOOD
The volunteers will prepare own meals in the guest house. The guest house has the fridge and cooker for use by Medium term Volunteers
LOCATION AND OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
The volunteers will be working within the office campus of AYISE in Bangwe with some opportunities to attend meetings and conferences on behalf of AYISE in relation to ones assignment and as assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.
They will also enjoy working in an African City and hence will learn urban life challenges and opportunities in Malawi and Africa.
