Project “THE WORLD INSIDE THE CLASSROOM”

The project aims to present to primary and high schools pupils the volunteers’ cultures and languages. The idea is to prepare workshops where the volunteers introduce the costumes and traditions of their home countries so to compare with the local ones. The project will take place during February-April 2012.

The volunteers will give very basic classes of foreign languages and facilitate the intercultural exchange using and creating games, stories, video and drawings so to make it all more interactive. The workshops will be held three times a week at school.

You will also be helping local volunteers giving ‘remedial classes’ twice a week.

The volunteers will be working 6 hours per day and will have two free days a week (trips and visits will be organized).

It will be a great experience to know local culture, share life experiences with local and other international volunteers.

The volunteers are encouraged to bring posters, dresses, books, pictures, games and any other thing that could be used with children from their home countries.
